Safety Smart stand up against homelessness

Safety Smart are making a stand against homelessness and getting behind the wonderful campaign #feetonthestreet to raise awareness for Street Support.

Homelessness in Manchester has reached crisis level. If you’ve been into the city centre lately you have probably noticed the increase in the number of people sleeping on the streets. Sadly, rough sleepers are only the very tip of the iceberg. You may find these articles interesting:

Why the increase?
True scale of the crisis.

We wanted to do something to help but didn’t know where to start until we came across Gary Dunstan, co-founder of Street Support, a central digital hub to unite all the charities and voluntary groups that support people who are experiencing homeless and those who would like to help. You may be surprised that what is needed is not necessarily what you might think. Take a look

All businesses in the UK should have access to competent health and safety advice. As such, Safety Smart are delighted to be pledging support to the associated charities and voluntary groups that support people experiencing homelessness over the next three years. We are offering these organisations our competent person scheme free of charge, enabling them to contact us for advice and guidance and receive our monthly legal briefing. Hopefully freeing up money they would have spent on health and safety will mean it can be spent elsewhere, where it is really needed.

We will keep you posted as we roll this out and urge you to consider how you/your business may be able to get involved too.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

P.S We hope you like the feet photo. Can you do the same?
